Broadcast Systems Engineer

An international broadcast and communications service provider has a coveted vacancy for a Systems Engineer within their Central London project team.

Responsible for a wide variety of technologies spanning DVB and IP infrastructure, the systems engineer will provide technical support for operational teams in Playout, MCR and content management, while working on upgrade and service improvement projects.

The position will join an experienced, multidisciplinary team of engineers and solutions architects and assist with developing new services across, linear, VOD and OTT platforms.

The team are looking for someone with a sound comprehension of IT networking combined with ability in some of the following areas:

  • Design, installation, operation, maintenance and support of DVB compression and other video related systems.
  • Project Management of complex system builds, with particular attention to cost tracking, timescales and documentation.
  • Pre and post-Sales support roles, together with provision of accurate project costing forecasts.
  • An understanding of SDH, SDI and Ethernet telecoms circuits would be an advantage.
  • The ability to produce quality system diagrams using both Visio and AutoCAD software
  • A strong technical aptitude and enthusiasm to learn
  • Coding and development experience is desirable, but not essential.
